<h2>Ingredients</h2>
<ul>
<li>1 cup basmati rice, rinsed</li>
<li>Kosher salt</li>
<li>1/2 cup frozen peas</li>
<li>3/4 cup plain yogurt</li>
<li>1 small clove garlic, chopped</li>
<li>1 1-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped</li>
<li>1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, plus lime wedges for serving</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon ground cumin</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper</li>
<li>4 6-ounce tilapia fillets</li>
<li>2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted</li>
<li>1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro or mint</li>
</ul>
<h2>Directions</h2>
<div>
<p>Bring the rice, 1 1/3 cups water and 1/4 teaspoon salt to a simmer in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the peas; cover and set aside.</p>
<p>Puree 1/2 cup yogurt, the garlic, ginger, lime juice, cumin, cayenne and 3/4 teaspoon salt in a food processor. Transfer all but 3 tablespoons of the mixture to a large bowl. Pierce the fish a few times with a fork and season with salt; add to the bowl and toss. Marinate 15 minutes.</p>
<p>Preheat the broiler. Place the fish on a broiler pan; top with the marinade and butter. Broil until opaque, 6 to 8 minutes. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup yogurt, the cilantro, and salt to taste with the yogurt mixture. Serve the fish and rice with the yogurt sauce and lime wedges.</p>

<p></strong>When I first started my career I made a mistake I think many people make when they first enter the workforce, I chose my job over myself. What that translated to in the kitchen was a lot of precooked, processed foods and certainly not a lot of fresh, home cooked meals, unless of course I could weasel my way into an invitation from my family. It didn’t take much time for the choice I made to start showing itself all over, I was anemic, losing muscle and gaining fat!<strong id="internal-source-marker_0.7432838745880872"></p>
<p></strong>This year I decided to focus on making my own food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The remarkable thing is I realized just how much I enjoy cooking! Preparing my own food is a release from the day’s stress, a time to focus energy on cooking new, creative, easy meals and rewarding myself with great food! I used to mindlessly take in great quantities of poor quality, flavor deprived, processed foods. Now that I am making my own meals, I realize how good quality and flavor can go a long way! When your food is fresh and full of natural flavors you don’t need to gorge yourself to feel satisfied.<strong id="internal-source-marker_0.7432838745880872"></p>

<li><strong id="internal-source-marker_0.7432838745880872">Evenly coat the kale with olive oil, if you have a mister or any type of spray olive oil, I recommend that to keep the chips low fat, and full of flavor</strong></li>
<li><strong id="internal-source-marker_0.7432838745880872">Season with your choice: I like to use sea salt, garlic powder and a little bit of onion powder</strong></li>
<li><strong id="internal-source-marker_0.7432838745880872">Cook the kale for 10-14 minutes. I always check mine at 10 minutes, because each variety of kale is different in the time it needs to crisp up.</strong></li>

<p>   The New Year Brings about all those new exercise routines.  Unfortunately,  there isn&#8217;t an owners manual for the gym, your body, and your life.  For people who work at a gym, they know that this time of year is filled with a lot of accidents.  The biggest mistake people make is that they don&#8217;t know <strong>how to eat according to their workout routines</strong>.  I can&#8217;t tell you how many time we&#8217;ve had call 911 based on a passed out gym member, and all because they thought they shouldn&#8217;t eat before working out!</p>
<p>I will spare you the horror stories and jump right in&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.dietsinreview.com/diet_column/02/rise-and-shine-with-morning-workouts/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7694" title="morning-workout" src="http://fittipdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/morning-workout-300x201-1.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="201" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>AM WORKOUT</strong></span> &#8211; Pre workout,  eat 200-300 calories before your gym time.  If you are looking to lean up then follow your workout with a 200 calorie moderate carb protein shake.  <em>Moderate carbs would be between  15-30 grams.</em></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Lunch Workout</strong></span>:  On the days that you work out at your lunch time, eat a full breakfast.  Then have a snack about an hour before your workout.  Once your workout is done, try to <strong>eat your lunch within 30-45 mins after your workout.</strong>  This allows your body to use the food as fuel, decreasing the need to store it as fat!</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>After Work / Before Dinner Routine</strong>:</span>  If you are working out after work but BEFORE dinner then you definitely need to have snacks with  you at work or in your car!</p>
<ul>
<li>Eat a moderate breakfast, then a small snack, then lunch, followed by another 200-300 calorie snack (with protein).  After your workout try to eat within 30-45 mins if possible.</li>
<li>Working out in the evening means that you should be eating through out the whole day.  Your biggest meals should be during the day, NOT at night after your workout.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color: #008000;"><strong>LATE NIGHT GYM DATE</strong>:</span>  Eat as you normally would through the day.  If you eat dinner before, then make sure you have a protein shake or a snack with moderate carbohydrates and a good amount of protein to recover.</p>
<ul>
<li> <strong>Always eat through the whole day to keep your blood sugar level.</strong>  If you have dips in your day when you don&#8217;t eat for 4-6 hours at a time, you will never make it to the gym!  Those dips create a sluggish, tired feeling, which is never conducive to getting your butt to the gym <img src='http://fittipdaily.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  !</li>

<p>Oz showed 2 mice.  One was fat while the other was thin.  The only difference between their identical diets was the Sea Buckthorn.  The skinny mouse consumed that along with his normal diet.</p>

<p>After hearing about this show from my mom and researching it online, I found it hard to find any info that wasn&#8217;t biased.</p>
<p>While these other forms of buckthorn can cause a laxative effect, sea buckthorn isn&#8217;t said to possess that quality.    The berry is also very rich in vitamin C, which is beneficial for detoxifying the body.  It can also be found in face products due to it&#8217;s vitamin C content.</p>
<p><strong>Research of  Sea Buckthorn on Humans???</strong></p>
<p>There wasn&#8217;t a lot of research on humans for this weight loss supplement.  The only one I found was on a supplement site but the research was  never mentioned on the popular daytime show.</p>
<blockquote><p> This study, published in 2011 in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition recruited <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=Sea%20Buckthorn%20waist%20circumference">110 overweight women</a> (80 completed the study). The women were given diets that contained either Bilberries, Sea Buckthorn, Sea Buckthorn phenolic extract, or Sea Buckthorn oil.</p>
<p>Researchers noted that both bilberries and sea buckthorn caused a statistically significant reduction in waist circumference. Bilberries appeared to reduce waist circumference more than sea buckthorn (1.2 cm vs. 0.008 cm respectively). That’s not a lot but it’s something I guess.</p>
<p>As far as I can tell, this seems to be the only human sea buckthorn weight loss study out there so far (<a href="http://supplement-geek.com/sea-buckthorn-weight-loss-review/">source</a>).</p></blockquote>
<p>Dr. Oz recommended<strong> 500mg of sea buckthorn oil per day</strong>.  However, the show and the Doctor didn&#8217;t release any info to support this dosage.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">SIDE EFFECTS OF SEA BUCKTHORN </span></strong></p>
<p>If you are in good health then there isn&#8217;t any side effects.  However,  this oil does cause a blood thinning effect and if taken with other blood thinning medication it could cause some serious problems.  SEA Buckthorn should NOT be mixed with blood thinning medication.</p>
<p>Only time will tell if this miracle berry is what the mice showed it to be!  However, the timing of this supplement on prime time TV at the end of 2011 and into 2012 could make it the supplement to buy in the new year!</p>

<p><strong>1 Cube Of Dorot Garlic (or one clove)</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Add 4 teaspoons of Better then Bouillon with 4 cups of water (32 oz of chicken broth)  to the slower cooker and turn it on high.</p>
<p>Add in 1 cube of garlic ( 1 clove) and 1 cube of basil.</p>
<p>Cook brown rice in microwave (total of 3 cups per bag) and add it to the slow cooker.</p>
<p>In a pan brown the onion on medium heat with a couple sprays of olive oil.   Throw them into the slower cooker once they are golden brown.</p>
<p>Brown chicken in pan on both sides with a couple sprays of olive oil.  This should be a light brown and the meat with still be raw in the center.  Add to<strong> slow cooker</strong>.</p>
<p>Cut and peel carrots and add them to crock pot.</p>
<p>Cut celery and add it in as well.</p>
<p>Add in 1 teaspoon of dried dill.</p>
<p>Add fresh ground pepper (roughly 1/2 teaspoon).</p>
<p>Let the crock pot cook the chicken (in 2 whole pieces) for 30-40 minutes on high.</p>
<p>Take the chicken out of the crock pot and shred.  Add it back into the slow cooker, turn it down to warm and wait 5- 10 minutes.  If you are going to leave this recipe cooking longer then turn the heat down or add the rice 30 minutes before eating.   Serve and enjoy!</p>

<li>1 small carton of southwest egg beater or reg egg beaters</li>
<li>Reduced fat cheese</li>
<li>2 logs of reduced fat crescent rolls</li>
<li>(this makes a big batch for the week)</li>

<li>Cook egg substitute on stove top.  If you use the southwest style you might need to drain and pat them dry due to extra water in the onions and peppers.  Set to the side to cool.</li>

<li>Crisp bacon in a pan on stove top and set to the side to cool as well.</li>
<li>Crack open the logs of pre-made, reduced fat crescent rolls.  Since the rolls come in triangles and they are small, put 2 of them together to form a square.  Make sure the 2 rolls over lap in the middle so they don&#8217;t fall apart.</li>

<li>Put bacon, then eggs and a dash of reduced fat cheese on top of your overlapping dough.</li>
<li>Fold eack corner across to wrap them into a little bun (forget trying to make them into crescent rolls).</li>
<li>Bake for 10-13 minutes or until golden brown.</li>

<p>Set to the side to cool.  For daily meals, wrap your cooled buns into wax paper and then into ziplock bags.  These can be placed in the fridge and be eaten all week <img src='http://fittipdaily.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>This recipe can be made in bulk.  Each bun can be reheated and it costs a fraction of the price of pre prepared breakfast bowls and sandwiches. <strong> The total fat is less then 10 grams and the carbs are 24 grams.  As a whole, one bun is 245 calories.</strong>  Making this  low calorie breakfast ahead of time allows you to reheat them and run out of the door while still eating healthy!  Share this<strong> fitness tip</strong> with your friends and family to keep you and them healthy all year long!</p>
