			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Cancer</span> is by far one of thee biggest enemies that human kind has had to fight.  Each year 7.6 million people die from cancer each year.  It has been the focus of countless benefits, fundraisers and global outreach programs all over the world.  While the money from these sources keeps rolling in to search for a cure, scientists are still desperately searching.    There are numerous medications to fight the growth of the disease, but very few people view diet as a way to fight cancer.  Low  carb diets could be offer a glimmer of hope.</p>

<p>Researchers in British Columbia have found a way to slow the progress of the disease.  Using mice, they tested their theory.  Since cancer cells rely on glucose (blood sugar) for fuel, they placed the mice on low carb diets.  These high protein,<strong> low carb diets</strong> slowed the growth of the cancer cells when compared to the mice that were fed a mixed western type of diet.  Scientists also used mice that were genetically prone to developing cancerous tumors.</p>
<p>To add to the research further, animals fed a <em>low carb diet</em> from birth showed no signs of cancerous tumors in the first year.  50% of the animals that were fed a western diet with in the first year of life developed tumors.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve participated in the toning shoe movement then it&#8217;s time you cashed in and got your money back!  Consumers who purchased <strong>Skechers Shape Ups and other Sketchers toning shoes,</strong>  are entitled to money from a $40 million settlement that the company made with the Federal Trade Commission. The Skechers lawsuit applies to 42 states and was passed on Wednesday (5/ 16/ 2012).</p>

<h2><span style="color: #0000ff;">Why Did Skechers Lose The Lawsuit ?</span></h2>
<ul>
<li>Unsupported claims on weight loss, muscle toning, strengthening using these shoes verses regular gym shoes.</li>
<li>Shape ups used an endorsement from a chiropractor named Dr. Steven Gautreau, who did an independent study which was used as part of the advertisements.  However, the FTC says that the study&#8217;s claims were not verified.  To add to the drama, Dr. Gautreau is married to a Skechers marketing executive!</li>
<li>Celebrity Endorsement worked against the company.  Kim Kardashian is seen ditching her trainer for a pair of Shape Ups.  Brooke Burke told consumers that newest way to burn calories, tone and add muscle was to tie their new Shape Ups shoe laces.  KA-WHaT!</li>
<li>An ad that claims consumers who wear Resistance Runner shoes will increase “muscle activation” by up to 85 percent for posture-related muscles, 71 percent for one of the muscles in the buttocks, and 68 percent for calf muscles, compared to wearing regular running shoes. The FTC alleges that in citing the study that claimed to back this up, Skechers cherry-picked results and failed to substantiate its ad claims.</li>

<li>10 &#8211; 12 Eggs  (or egg whites)</li>
<li>1 green onion</li>
<li>2 zucchini</li>
<li>8 slices of bacon ( we prefer turkey bacon)</li>
<li>1 cup of roasted red and yellow peppers</li>
<li>4 cups of spinach</li>
<li>Black pepper to taste</li>
</ul>

<h2>Instructions</h2>
<ol>
<li>Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease muffin pans with coconut oil or spray with olive oil.</li>
<li>Whisk all the eggs together in a bowl.  Add black pepper also.</li>
<li>Put green onions, zuchini, bacon and peppers into a food processor and process into finely chopped mixture.  Add the mixture into the eggs.</li>
<li>Next, add the spinach into the food precessor, finely chop.  Add this to the egg mixture.</li>
<li>Mix the egg mixture well.  Using a 1/4 cup fill each spot in the muffin pan (makes 18-20).</li>
<li>Bake the<strong> egg cupcakes </strong>for 20-25 minutes or until the eggs are set in the middle.</li>

<p>33 billion dollars is spent yearly by Americans trying to lose weight.  Even if the diets are successful 95% of the dieters will put the weight back on.  One of the biggest complaints by people trying to shed weight is &#8221; I never <strong>feel <span style="text-decoration: underline;">full</span></strong>.&#8221;   Researchers have honed in on this factor and scientists may have pin pointed some the key to fighting  the &#8220;battle of the buldge.&#8221;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A hormone called ghrelin released in your stomach and your intestinal tract which  signals your brain and compels you to eat.  However, you can supress this hormone by eating certain foods to keep the ghrelin at bay and stay<em> full</em>.</p>

<h2>Which Foods Should You Choose To Stay Full ?</h2>

<p><strong>PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROETIN!!</strong>   Oh and don&#8217;t forget the fiber.   I advise my clients to fill up on protein every 3-4 hours.   From a scientific stand point, eating through out the day keeps your ghrelin levels low so that you can control what you eat.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The weakest point of the day is usually night time.  People hit the snacks late.    My solution is to fill your body with a protein shake that is low in carbohydrates BEFORE you hit the cabinet.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Since I&#8217;m gluten intolerant and sensitive to dairy I use the Jarrow&#8217;s Brown rice protein shake.  Another option that I recommend to clients is Isopure which is low in carbohydrates and calories.</p>

<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">Set your music playlist to how long you are going to work out (optional) .  Lets say 45 minutes</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">Set your interval timer for every 3 minutes (45/3=15 sets)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">Start jogging!</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #0000ff;">Every time the timer goes off you stop right where you are at and do <strong>15 pushups</strong>, <strong>15 lateral shoulder raises, 15 front shoulder raises, and 15 overhead shoulder presses using your water bottles. </strong></span></li>

<div>Like most people I don’t want to get up in the morning any earlier than I need to, which often means I am running around the house trying to get out the door on time, and don’t spend the time I should on eating a good breakfast. I ran into that problem today, and I have been paying for it all day long!Normally I am organized, and have a good idea of a healthy, protein rich breakfast in my head before I hit the sheets at night. I know for myself, I need a lot of protein in the morning if I am going to make it to lunch without starving. That means I usually have on hand egg whites, celery with peanut butter, and then I discovered overnight oatmeal, what a wonderful idea! I made a big mistake this morning though, and just had a few berries and some nuts. Fruits and healthy fats, what could go wrong? I could turn into a human garbage disposal by 10 am is what! How could I possibly do my job well when I spent the next two hours dreaming of my lunch. That glorious noon hour came and I devoured my lunch in what seemed like 10 seconds, only to realize my lunch was gone and I was still starving! I learned my lesson the hard way, better choices at breakfast means an easy diet to follow all day long, poor breakfast and you better get out of my way if you are any sort of food.<span>Learn from my mistake and do some pre planning that will pay off all day long! This simple idea can be tailored to you. My personal favorite is raspberry vanilla,  now go find yours!</span></div>

</strong>I had fun experimenting with different flavor combinations and settled on six favorites. They all start with the same basic ingredients and procedure.</p>
<p><strong>Step 1. </strong>Assemble these ingredients &amp; supplies:</p>

<li>old fashioned rolled oats (not instant, quick, or steel-cut)</li>

<p>If you had to choose one color to promote weight loss, what would it be???   Some would choose red, others orange, and the rest might settle on yellows and greens.  However, research shows that the ONE COLOR that is best for <strong>weight loss</strong> is actually BLUE!!  The color blue and weight loss can go hand in hand around your house in many different ways.</p>

<li>Blue is the least appetizing color.  So eating your food on a blue plate has been used for years to keep people from over indulging.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">If you think about the color blue, it becomes evident that humans shy away from this color because it is a signal of poison (in vegetables), and bacteria such as mold.  Look at this picture and tell me if you&#8217;d want to eat it.</li>

<p>Sure, these fitness tips may sound a tad odd, but using using colors that your body already regards as &#8220;poison&#8221; of &#8220;less appetizing&#8221; could be something you&#8217;ve overlooked for years!!!   All you have to do is think about some of your favorite restaurants and restaurant chains, what color of plate do you get served on?  What color is the inside and outside of the building?  Do you see any blue in sight??  Probably not!!!  That&#8217;s because they already know that blue is the least appetizing, while white is the most.  If you love this fitness tips, share with all your weight loss buddies, they&#8217;ll be glad you did!</p>
