Break Your Soda Habit
A lot of people have taken a stand against their soda habits. Others, have either given up or don’t care. If you haven’t put any thought into kicking your soda habit then you should reconsider. Soda not only breaks down the enamel on your teeth (never to return again), it also causes potassium problems. Low potassium levels (hypokalaemia) could lead to weak muscles, heart problems, vomiting, and diarrhea.
How to Kick Your Soda Habit Today:
- Take baby steps. If you drink four sodas per day, replace two with an alternative today.
- Make alternatives slowly. Start with diet soda, then switch to flavored water.
- Once you’ve gotten comfortable with this routine, replace your other sodas with an alternative.
- Still alive? Great! Now switch those diet sodas or flavored water to plain water. Don’t like plain water? Try adding fresh fruit to them.
- Experiment with other beverages like teas, milk, soy milk, and seltzer – the goal here is to hydrate mostly with plain water.
- Don’t keep soda in the house. Make it a treat to be enjoyed now and then (source).
If you have to have the occasional soda; it won’t hurt you. However consuming multiple sodas through out the day can have some lasting results. Diet sodas are not exempt! They may not have the calories, but they still affect your body. Change your ritual, and your body will thank you!

What!??? Did I read this right! It seems as though there were traces of cocaine in red bull cola. If it wasn’t a popular product before, it might be now ! Fit Celeb gives us the inside scoop.
According to TIME magazine the head of the food safety department at Germany’s federal ministry for consumer protection, Bernhard Kuehnle, told the German press Sunday (May 24):
“The [Health Institute in the state of North Rhine Westphalia] examined Red Bull Cola in an elaborate chemical process and found traces of cocaine.”
The reports say that the 0.13 micrograms of cocaine per can does not pose a serious health risk – and that you would need to drink 12,000 L of Red Bull Cola to feel the negative effects.
It has already been banned in Germany after these scientists discovered the illegal narcotic in the energy drink. However, the head of the Institute for Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Research in the city of Nuremberg, Fritz Soergel, told TIME:
“There is no scientific basis for this ban on Red Bull Cola because the levels of cocaine found are so small.”
“And it’s not even cocaine itself. According to the tests we carried out, it’s a nonactive degradation product with no effect on the body. If you start examining lots of other drinks and food so carefully, you’d find a lot of surprising things,” he says.
A Red Bull spokesman in response to the German government’s announcement was,
“De-cocainized extract of coca leaf is used worldwide in foods as a natural flavoring.”
For the full TIME article, get energized right this way!
If you needed another reason to steer your kids away from soda then this may be it! I guess Red Bulls Logo ” Strong and Natural,” was a bit more accurate then they originally intended!
