As we age, it becomes clearer that our younger years have actually harmed our bodies internally. The pesticides, chemicals, dyes, alcohol and environmental toxins begin to weigh us down. While colonic aren’t a glamorous topic, they do offer some great advantages to those who are working hard to be healthy and maintain optimal health from the inside out. The benefits of a colonic are endless and can vary from person to person but here’s our short breakdown.
What is a Colonic anyhow??
A colonic is basically an enema for the colon. It is sometimes also known as colon hydrotherapy, or colon irrigation. It involves inserting a long tube inside the colon, where instilled water is introduced. This water circulates around the colon, loosening any fecal matter, and toxins.
The water also causes your large intestine to start peristalsis, which will eject all the fecal matter out of your rectum. It is not painful at all (some people have actually enjoyed the feeling!) A colonic is NOT surgery, it is just like a massage for the colon (source).
The Benefits of a Colonic
Makes the digestive system work better
Maintains regularity and prevents constipation
Increases the body’s absorption of vitamins and nutrients
Kick-starts weight loss
Decreases risk of colon cancer
Maintains pH balance in the bloodstream
Improves whole-body well-being
For people like me who suffer from food allergies colonics could offer increased vitamin absorption, and energy levels significantly. If you are considering having one done I hear that the best machine to use is the “Angel of Water” system which allows the clients to be alone or with the therapist. Other systems do no give you a choice and someone must be in the room at all times. The water is also extra purified before entering your system.
If you can get past the uncomfortable thought of doing a colonic, then you could be on your way to a healthier body! Everything in life needs a good cleaning, from time to time and the benefits of a colonic out weigh the uncomfortable 45 minutes. Hopefully this article opened your eyes to the idea. If you have done one, please write in and tell the readers what you experienced!!
