It’s easy to see what’s wrong with America’s health when you listen to people at the gym. From a trainers perspective, listening to the reason’s why people don’t budget for fitness is endless. When you dig deeper, you learn that it’s all about priority. People put more emphasis on eating out, spending money on clothing, going on vacations, and buying expensive cars. Yet, they don’t look at the flip side. Eating out could be part of your fun money, but you shouldn’t center your outings around food. Clothing is essential but it would be even more fun to spend it on clothes in smaller sizes. If you love going on vacation … GREAT! However, eating healthy and exercising allows you to take more vacations in the long run. Excess spending on cars boost your ego, but it would be even better if you looked hot in that expensive car.
By altering the way you spend and putting it into things like running shoes, gym clothes, training, gym memberships, home equipment, and supplements; you are putting yourself and your health first. You could start simple using these tips…
- If you go out to eat 3 times per week. Deduct 1 time and use that money to get some new shoes.
- Love buying clothes??? Make yourself a promise and stop buying new clothes unless they are a size smaller??
- Want to upgrade your car? Sure, you can upgrade but hold back a little … use the extra money to buy some training.
- Use that much needed vacation as a goal. If you lose 10 pounds.. if you drop a size then you can go on that vacation.
No one needs goals to spend money. Possessions come and go but you have to live with your health the rest of your life.
