This new device created by Yamaha is a MP3 player with a built in heart rate monitor. As your heart rate increases; the player synchronizes the music to your movement. How cool is that?!
For those of us who love all our devices but don’t love wearing all of it; this is a great combination! The Bodibeat also tracks your workouts and measures your results.
Everyone knows that exercise is good for you, right? And through its Music & Wellness Institute, Yamaha conducts medical research that shows playing musical instruments, that is, creating your own music, is also good for you.
Well, how about listening to music while you exercise? It turns out that numerous scientific studies have shown what is probably intuitively obvious to you: Listening to music while you exercise decreases discomfort levels. In addition, it has been shown that listening to music with a tempo that matches the pace of your running reduces overall discomfort levels further still – The Yamaha BODiBEAT has been inspired by this knowledge. Your workout will be over before you know it when you use BODiBEAT (source).
This is product is pretty spendy but it might be worth the money. Since it combines a heart rate monitor and and MP3 player you have to view the overal price as a combination of the two devices. The bodibeat runs for $299.95. For more information visit the Yamaha.com
If you think music doesn’t impact the intensity of your workout… then just try leaving your ipod in the car. Great music will change your perspective on going to the gym, and working out. For people who hate doing cardio (like myself); music is the best way to distract yourself and “zone out.” Distraction is the key to doing long bouts of cardio and keeping your mind off the stresses of life.
