The movie “Super Size Me,” started a domino affect in the “health documentary” field. Millions of Americans and fast food consumers tuned in as the industry was dissected. While the movie started the roller coaster of information, it may have just been the tip of the iceberg. Other documentaries started to roll out, but with mixed reviews. While all of them were filled with great information, most of them missed the boat when it came to entertainment. I was sent a recent documentary called “Chow Down,” to review for the site.
The underlying topic with all of these health documentaries is VERY clear. If you don’t eat healthy, you are doomed for a life filled with disease. “You are what you eat,” carries more and more meaning. If you don’t make time for your health, then your health care provider will be clearing out the next hospital bed for you. I know this sounds harsh, but today, it has become a reality.
“Chow Down” highlights 3 participants lives through their struggles with heart disease. Each person follows Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn diet. This eating plan is based on years of research by Esselstyn. His findings have shown that “plant based diets” have the ability to reverse the affects of heart disease by unclogging blocked arteries.
This film is truly EYE OPENING! Regardless of your current health, everyone should see this movie! It’s motivating, informational, and entertaining. The facts presented in this movie link health directly to our eating habits.

If you are having trouble motivating yourself or your loved ones to make a change to their health, sit down and watch this movie! If you are already motivated, then sit back, relax, and absorb this stunning information. It’s worth every minute!
