The creator of Bulletproof coffee is taking the market by storm with the release of product after product. One of his newest endeavors is his creation of “Fatwater.” My first thought was, “what the heck is fat water and what’s in it!?” I’ve been studying Dave Asprey’s method for some time now, and this product peaked my interest. To sum it up, Fatwater is exactly that, water with added fat as an aid to quench your thirst, give you superior hydration, increase brain function, and boost metabolism. They’re also selling it at one of my favorite stores, Erewhon! If Erewhon’s carrying it then it’s always worth a second glance!
Similar to the principle behind Bulletproof Coffee, fat water uses Daves’ patented coconut oil nanoparticles to help boost brain function, and turn up your metabolism. The water also has added vitamin E to allow the oil to mix with water.
When the Creator was asked how Fat Water tastes, he relied
“Fatwater “is not meant to be creamy,” he said, like Bulletproof coffee. Instead, “It’s pearlescent… it feels wetter on the tongue.”
Dave’s a self proclaimed “biohacker” much like myself. Always searching for the answers to his own body. From thyroid issues, to food allergies, his quest to find the answers have become a 9 million dollar business.
His view on water is that our bodies don’t process water as efficiently as it could.
“It turns out, if you gulp a giant bottle of water, most of it passes through you and doesn’t get absorbed,” he said. “People have been talking for many years about how our bodies are dehydrated and how we need even more water in the body and not just more water in the mouth. This is our contribution to help people solve that problem.” (source)
The fat in the water is an easily absorbable through medium-chained-triglyceride. His version is known as XCT oil and can be purchased via his site and many others. Each bottle of Fatwater has 2 grams of fat and 20 calories.
Smart marketing or a play on words? Regardless, I will be hitting up Erewhon in the near future to give you my first hand review. I’ve already tested out bulletproof coffee and some of Daves other products. I’m in love with the coffee and I have faith in his research.
While Fatwater is only avalibale in LA. You can purchase it online via his website in the next couple of weeks. It’s available in unflavored, lemon, orange or berry. preorder here.
