I LOVE Halloween! The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp and there’s also a little thing called: HALLOWEEN CANDY!!!!!
I don’t know about you, but I have a sweet tooth and Halloween is like a candy national holiday. Now, we all know that sugar equals weight gain, but perhaps you can make some smart choices when indulging this holiday season.
Let’s start with the Good, and I’m talking about the Fun Size obvs(translation:obviously). Did you ever get regular size bars on Halloween when trick or treating?! Neither did I, but I wish I would have.
The top 2, least caloric, least sugar and least amount of fat go to:
Hard Candy:
Sweet Tarts
Calories:10
Fat:0
Sugar:2.4
Chocolate:
Milk Duds
Calories:40
Fat:2
Sugar:6.3
Now the Bad:
The top 2 highest amount of calories, highest amount of fat and highest amount of sugar:
Hard Candy:
Skittles
Calories: 80
Fat: 0.8
Sugar: 15
Chocolate:
Whoppers:
Calories: 100
Fat: 4
Sugar: 13
Lastly, the Ugly. This is the most disappointing candy of them all because it is a Halloween staple and I honestly will never look at this candy ever the same.
Candy Corn:
Calories: 150!
Fat:0
That was a surprise, but then comes the amount of sugar in just 20 pieces…
Sugar:33
That amount of sugar in those little pieces of candy is basically the amount of sugar you should have in your entire day.
I’m saddened, but relieved by all the truth that was exposed today.
Hey, Halloween only comes around once a year indulge a little, or just make it your cheat day for that week.
Sweetly Yours,
Bianca
