Watching tv at this time of years can get a little repetitive when it comes to the commercials. For every Jenny Craig commercial that you see, there is also one for weight watchers, subways, taco bell and now Jillian Michaels new cleanse program. We get bombarded with information claiming that their diet and eating plans are all going to make you shed the pounds. However, this Jenny Craig commercial got a little out of hand (says the other leading weight loss system – Weight Watchers).
“The Jenny Craig advertisements are false,” Weight Watchers said in the Seattle Times. “Jenny Craig did not conduct ‘a major clinical trial’ comparing its product with the Weight Watchers program.” What’s more, they’re claiming that the Jenny Craig study referred to was conducted 10 years ago.
Weight watchers has now taken Jenny to court demanding that they take these commercials off the air and pay damages to the company. Ouch, this couldn’t have come at a worse time for W.W. However, by the time this trial hits the court, regardless of who wins, Jenny Craig will have raked in millions more. Sounds like they are playing a dirty game to me.
