Jillian Michaels chapter on “The Biggest Loser” has ended, and with that an new chapter of her life has begun. Since she has left the show, I am sure we will begin to see tons of new products coming our way. While Jill has created a large amount of products already, she may now be on the other side of the fence with more endorsements. These latest endorsement is for a spinning class.
Michaels will help open a new branch of the New York-based fitness outfit Flywheel Sports next month in Chicago — there’s a branch in Boca Raton, Fla., as well — as the company takes a ride into the national arena.
The trainer said she was lured by “the authenticity and athleticism behind the brand.”
Flywheel gives each rider real-time stats on the bike, allowing for in-studio competition among riders and Web-based access to individual performance over time. “I wanted to be part of the most innovative and effective indoor cycling program,” Michaels said.
She’ll take an inaugural ride Aug. 9 in Chicago alongside Flywheel co-founder Ruth Zukerman. Much like Michaels, Zukerman is seen as a guru of sorts by fans: The former stay-at-home mom got into the biz as she worked through a crushing divorce, now passing along her determination to her students.
I have a feeling that we will begin to see these gyms all across the United States. Jillian knows a good product when she sees it and with her backing, this gym is going to be a sensation! As with all very successful Tv hosts and participants, they eventually step out of the spotlight and begin to do projects behind the scenes. This “Oprah Move” could be the best thing for Michaels personal life and professional status in the long run.
