Okay, so let me just preface this by saying I LOVE PROBIOTICS.
There I got it out. Honestly though, yesterday I kind of overdosed on probiotics…accidentally, kind of. As I was feeling the after shocks of my overdose I was speaking to my mother and she said, “The colon is the laziest organ.”
Say what?!
I instantly thought, “Oh no, am I making my colon lazy by helping it with all these probiotics?”
Let’s first take a look at what are probiotics?
FitTip Fact #1: Probiotics are organisms such as bacteria or yeast that are believed to improve health.
Probiotics won’t cure everything that ails you, but many people use them to treat Crohn’s disease, ulcers, high cholesterol, lactose intolerance and constipation, BUT there aren’t yet enough data to make firm recommendations.
BUUUUUTTTTT basically, when the digestive tract is healthy, it filters out and eliminates things that can damage it, such as harmful bacteria, toxins, chemicals, and other waste. Of course you don’t want to over do it on probiotics(cough, cough, me!) because you need some bad bacteria so all is even in your body.
Look, if you’re healthy-ish and have a decent diet, but let’s say you had a really naughty cheat day, have a little spoonful of probiotics to help get some of those fried sweet potatoes out. You know what I mean?
I just started taking a Vegan, Raw Probiotic and it tastes great and it’s effective.
FitTip #1: Drink this every 2 days or so, because you don’t want your body dependent on this. Trust, it works, WELL! Remember what my mother said?!
Plus they’ve named themselves as the “Champagne of Probiotics.” I. LOVE. CHAMPAGNE.
Cheers,
Bianca
