While searching the Internet for a much needed vacation getaway; I came across a fitness resort and spa. After viewing the pictures and the very reasonable prices, I decided I would give this place a try.
I upgraded my room for a small amount to a casita (house). That was the BEST idea ever! The house was a 3 bedroom with it’s own private pool. You could choose to order room service, or you could take a short walk to their Mexican cantina, or the high end restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the food was outstanding. They offered great healthy choices for those who are trying to keep their figure. The Mexicanfood was very authentic and the fillet was cook perfectly.
The ranch is located in Boreggo Spring, about an hour outside Palm Springs. The hotel and all the amenities sit on a 42 acre plot of land which caters to almost every type of person. You can lounge by one of the many pools, take advantage of their spa packages and salon, or participate in one of the many activities available. If you choose to par-take in their activities they are scheduled through out the day. They have everything from rock climbing, tennis, weight lifting classes, yoga classes, water ti-chi, archery, private training, atv- riding, golf , and a fully equip fitness center. Almost all of the activities with the exception of ATV riding and golf are included in your stay. There are also several activities that you can chose to do on your own. At the game area, there is life size chess, croquette, shuffle board, bocce ball, ping pong, as well as, bikes to ride along trails and around the resort.
During my stay, I decided to do pilates with my brother. I found the trainer Wes to be very educated and informative. He was patient and friendly. The workout was actually pretty tough. We used pilates machines which uses your own body weight for resistance. I was shocked by the intensity of the workout based on this simple piece of equipment.
Here are some fun picture of the activities we took advantage of .
The program director Kevin was the best! He talked us through each potentially stressful activity and kept us calm and collected. At the end of each activity he had us relate the metal aspect of completion and how it can be applied to challenges that arise in our daily lives.
I can honestly say, that there wasn’t a day during the vacation that I was bored. There was so much to do that you almost felt like you didn’t have enough time to do and see everything! From the moment I checked, in to the time I left, the service was excellent! Blanca at the front desk always greeted me with a smile and took care of any need in an instant. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with the option of activities and great food; give Borrego Ranch Resort and Spa a try. You won’t regret it, and you’ll want to go back year after year.
