It has been a well known fact for years, that High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad for your health. Although this sweetener comes from a “natural” source it can be very detrimental to your figure, your blood sugar and your weight.
Lately, they have been showing some shocking commercials on tv about the use of high fructose corn syrup. These commercials are NOT ment to shock you into NOT eating products with corn syrup… but rather, persuade you into using them in your diet. Watch this video …. I had to do a double take to make sure I was really hearing and seeing correctly!
(sorry ignore Paulin at the end)
Although, the obesity epidemic can’t all be blamed on “high fructose corn syrup,” it sure didn’t help children and adults all over the world. Excess sugar derived from corn syrup not only increases the calories in foods, it also makes them break down faster in your system causing a sugar spike in your blood level. Research has shown that when your blood level spikes at a rapid pace, you are more likely to store the sugar in your blood as fat.
As a general rule of thumb, look at the foods your are consuming. Try to avoid eating foods that are highly process. The more processed your foods are, and the more sugar (or corn syrup) is added.. the worse it is for you. Stick to whole foods, our ancestors had it right when they lived off the land.
