I grew up listening to Alanis Morissette on the radio. It’s hard to believe that while we all listened to her angry break up music she was dealing with a lot of other personal issues. It has now surfaced that during her hight of fame she struggled with anorexia and bulimia.
We always put celebrities on a pedestal, but forget that they also struggle with their weight and eating habits. Here is what Alanis has to say about her body image now that she has recovered from her “angry” stage in life.
Alanise Morissette recently did a little Q&A with People magazine and in the interview she opened up a bit more about her eating disorder struggles and where she is now in regards to that battle.
People: There’s been some scrutiny about your weight lately. Having moved past your bulimia and anorexia successfully, how does that attention affect you now?
I know a lot of people – because I had a record out at 19 – are used to one thing. I feel very feminine and comfortable in my own body, but I have to stop taking feedback.
People: What do you do to stay fit?
I have a yoga mat with me always. I Jet Ski, bicycle, and my favorite exercise- dancing. I live for greens and always have crudites in my fridge. (source)
It’s always important to be fit inside and out. Always incorperate things that keep you happy, healthy and motivated.
