Oxygen Magazine was one of the first weight training magazines I ever bought when I was in high school. Over time, I have seen the magazine evolve and get better and better. Now, It’s a “must have” for many female weight trainers and an awesome source for exercises, health, and nutrition advice. Check out this fun move that targets your abs.
Set Up: Lie faceup on a bench, grasping its sides just above your head for support. Keep your eyes focused on the ceiling, your back flat and your toes pointed [A].Action: Contract your abdominal muscles and lift your hips from the surface of the bench, bringing your thighs toward your chest. Try to ensure that your calves are perpendicular to the floor at the top of the motion and use muscle control, not momentum, throughout the move [B]. Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position. Do three sets of 15 reps(source).
This move can be done anywhere! It’s also really effective for targeting your lower abs. Add it to your routine and watch as it transforms your abs. If you want to make it even more effective, after rolling your knees into your chest, push them straight up to the ceiling, lifting your lower back off the bench. This is sure to fire up your midsection in no time !
