You won’t believe these tips and trick to keep your fitness food fresh longer!   I had never heard of a lot of these until I ran across them on the web.   This is defiantly one of those articles you print out and put on the fridge!!

 

   Freeze Green Onions in a Plastic Bottle

I’ve heard of the “freeze your herbs and make them into ice cubes” trick but never the plastic bottle trick!  Green onions that go awesome in omelets, salads, meets and into soups can now last 10x longer!

Fitness Tips:  Make sure the onions are completely dry before putting them into the freezer.

This product is actually called an Herb Savor.   If you don’t have the time to grow your own herbs (or the space) then get one of these handy gadgets and just make sure they stay watered!

Make Your Berries Last Longer

  Lets be real, berries are an awesome food but they go bad quickly!   If you want all the flavor and for longer then use this recipe.

Prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider) and ten parts water. Swirl the berries around in the mixture, drain, rinse, and put them in the fridge. The solution is diluted enough that you won’t taste the vinegar. Raspberries will last a week or more, and strawberries go almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft.

Tired of your bananas going bad every week!?  SO am I!   Use this fitness tip to keep your banana from spoiling.   They will last 3-5 days longer!

Wrap Your Celery, Broccoli, and Lettuce in Tin Foil

Use The Caps of Plastic Bottles to Keep Your Fitness Foods Fresh Longer

   Simply cut off the tops of bottles with lids. Use them to seal up your dry goods and keep them fresh!

Mushrooms Belong in A Paper Bag Not Plastic !

 

As soon as you get home from the store, transfer your mushrooms from a plastic bag into a paper bag!

  Plastic bags trap the moisture from the mushrooms inside which causes mildew.

How to Store Your Tomatoes

 

Never store your tomatoes in a plastic bag!!  The trapped ethylene will make them ripen faster.  Unripe tomatoes should be stored upside down (or stem side down).  In a paper bag or in a cardboard box until they are ripe.

Ripe tomatoes should be stored at room temperature, stem side up, not touching each other, and away from light.

Overly ripe tomatoes should be stored in the fridge.

Keep Your Lettuce Fresh For Days Longer !

This simple trick could save you tons of money if you are a rabbit like me !   Place a folded paper towel in with your lettuce so that it absorbs the moisture.   Moisture is the culprit for wilted lettuce.
