I’ve seen it a million times…. a person starts working out to feel better about themselves and to get healthy. They are going along great, losing weight, shedding pounds and inches. Then something happens! Everyone starts noticing! Then the person who was once on a roll with their diet and exercise starts to feel a little uncomfortable with their new found body and all the extra looks and comments they are getting.
This whole cycle can either make, or break you diet and exercise routine. It’s at this point that you must decide and remember why you started losing in the first place. If you lose sight of your goal, and get overwhelmed by all the attention, then it could mean disaster! So what should you do if this person is you???
- Write out your goals and remember why you are doing it for YOU.
- Focus on your personal goals and keep track of the progress you have made.
- Accept the compliments, but don’t view them as a negative thing.
- Evaluate your mood before you started working out and your mood now that you have decided to change. You should see a positive difference in your attitude, energy and health.
Self Sabotage should not keep you from getting your to your goal. Remind yourself everyday why you are doing this. Stay focused and don’t let others peoples comments get in the way.
