Love it or hate it, many fitness enthusiasts neglect to do the proper stretching routines. Yoga has become an essential portion to a complete fitness program. Without it, bodies become tight and unbalanced. The most important thing about yoga is that it allows space for muscles to grow and expand. The harsh fact is that tight muscle are less likely to expand and strengthen. This can be seen in many of our previous articles. For example, if you want a higher and tighter butt, you must first make sure it’s not overly tight so that you body will allow the muscles to move and contract.
Fitness Fact: If the muscles are too tight your body will avoid using them. This is a defense mechanism so that your body doesn’t tear and injure muscles.
These free yoga apps will allow you to perform poses anywhere at anytime. You can even do them between commercials while watching TV! I personally prefer the ones with images of “real” people verses illustrations. Yoga studios can be expensive, time consuming, and hard to fit into your schedule.
1.) Daily Yoga
This app is great for all fitness levels because it has over 400 different poses. The best thing about this app is the live voice that walks you through the poses (similar to a real instructor). You also have many options to customize your routine. It allows you to chose from selections such as, “Yoga for abs, Prenatal yoga, and slim waste yoga”, to name just a few.
2.) Hot Body Yoga
With it’s detailed step by step audio instructions, this app gives you all the guidance you need to preform the poses with confidence. If you love to watch your progress, this app will track your routines for you. It lists the poses you did, the amount of time it took you, and the sequence that you preformed those yoga poses. This free yoga app is also perfect for beginners.
3.) Yoga with Tania Lite
While this app does contain ads, it should be overlooked since the poses are well done, precise, and best of all, it’s FREE! You choose a pose, then you can see can see the written instructions of that pose. You can also see modifications and benefits of each. On the “Description” page, you can tap a button to have Tania explain to pose to you. You can also choose to play sound instructions or use your own music. For a free app, this is a very useful option for yogis or people who are beginners.
I was shocked at how many yoga apps aren’t free but of course, I understood that apps need money to grow. I assumed more of them would be using ads to make their money so they could distribute it for free. However, we love that their are options for free yoga apps out there and we hope that you will see the value in adding yoga to your fitness routine on a weekly basis!
