The downfall of Britney Spears was high publicised and almost heart breaking. Now the “fallen star” is working hard to get her life back on track. Here is a new article written in “OK” magazine on britney’s new weight loss and exercise plan.
I’m the healthiest I’ve been all my life,” Britney, 26, tells OK!. My diet has a lot to do with my getting into shape. I have no sugar. I don’t eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I’ll have egg whites for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for lunch. I try to do just 1,200 calories a day. It may sound like it’s not much, but it’s actually a lot of food if you eat the right things.”
Of course, Brit also hits the gym on a regular basis, doing “lots of cardio and weights” five days a week (source).
This diet and exercise routine may be working for Britney, however, 1,200 calories is very low. Remember, that it takes 1,200 calories just to run your bodies normal functions (digestion, pumping blood, and moving). Also, in order to work out an retain muscle mass, you must feed the muscle. Without enough calories to feed the muscle your body will end up using it as fuel. This can cause your body fat to rise. If you are planning and watching your calorie intake and following a weight lifting routine then shoot for between 1,400 to 1,600 calories (depending on your hight and the difficulty of your workout).
