Confessions Of A Carb Queen- Book Review

    Originally, I heard about this book from my mom who has struggled with her weight her whole life.  As a personal trainer, I got into the business to not only help myself, but to help people just like my mom fight the war against obesity.  Confessions Of A Carb Queen allows you to look inside the mind and struggles of the obese. 

    Everyone struggles with their self -image; no matter what your weight or dress size.  This book is so REAL that it even goes into the sex life of Susan Blech (the main character).  Everything from emotional eating, to self sabotage, to depression are addressed in-depth. 

    However, through these struggles Susan takes control and fights back. She checks into a weight loss clinic and begins to make changes.  Like many, she starts with baby steps doing little things like cutting out salt, and increasing her water intake.  All in all, it takes Susan 2 and a half years to shed her weight.  The book is full of diet advice, however you must look for it or you will read right over it!

    The best thing about this book is that is shows you what it really takesto lose weight and keep it off!  There is not a magical pill or a surgery that can get you to your “goal weight.”  Susan teaches you that it takes true determination, change in mind set, and consistency to make your weight loss a reality.

    I would recommend this book to anyone!  This book relates to everyone at some point during Susan’s struggles.  If you are over weight or someone you love is overweight this book lets you inside the mind, the hurt, embarrassment and struggles of those who are trying to lose.  It helps you identify with the weight loss struggle and shows you that everyone has the ability to change.
