I recently heard about this weight loss game from a close friend. She was raving about it on facebook. I have not yet tried the diet myself, but based on the reviews I predict that it is going to be a huge hit!
The Creators Of The “Game On Diet.”
The diet game was created by Az Ferguson for his co author, Krista Vernoff, to lose her pregnancy weight. Krista is also the writer for “Grey’s Anatomy.” As you can image, writers for hit shows don’t have a lot of time. So, Az decided to make it more of a competition to get Kristina going.

How Does The “Game On Diet” work?
There are points gained for healthy meals, points lost for unhealthy meals, points gained and lost for water consumption, sleep and exercise as well as the integration of new good habits (ie: meditation, reading) and the elimination of bad habits (ie: television, computer games.)
Succinctly put, Game On! turns the process of getting mentally and physically fit into a fun, fierce, wildly competitive GAME that brings people together and gets results. Whether a player wants to lose pounds, tone up or just change an unhealthy lifestyle, Game On! is the most fun that can be had accomplishing those goals.
Everyone is put on teams. Not everyone has to buy the book as long as people know the rules of the game. The game runs for 4 weeks.
To date Krista has lost over 40 lbs and has kept the weight off for over a year! It’s important to mention that this isn’t really a diet book. It’s a book that teaches you how to play the game. While the rules and the game do help you to shed weight, it’s more about living a healthy lifestyle and winning in life!
Here is what my good friend, Elisha Cook had to say about playing this diet game
Everyone playing is put onto teams which is what makes it work. The game lasts for 4 weeks. You have to meet certain goals everyday in order to make your points and then it really sucks when you let your team down. Plus the support of your team mates really keeps you going and the competition against the other teams. Lots and lots of sh*$-talking!
Our game just ended 2 weeks ago and we are gearing up for another one. The players don’t even need to be in close proximity to each other, there were 3 of us up here near Seattle, 2 near Portland, 1 in CA and 1 in NV. We had a group page on FB that we had to post on daily (communication is part of the rules). All in all once you get the hang of it, it is super simple. It’s all about taking time for yourself without realizing it and by the end you feel great and detoxed!
Even the players in our game who just couldn’t squeeze in all the rules and find the time for what it takes had a positive experience! Everyone lost some weight even if it was only a couple lbs, and everyone made positive changes in their everyday life. We all felt better which was the biggest bonus I think !”
If you know someone who needs support, and is competitive, this could be the book for them! Make sure you spread the word about this fun fitness tip to your friends on facebook, twitter, and anyone that could benefit! A big thanks to Elisha Cook for letting me in on such an awesome and fun way to lose!
