Could the Apple Watch Sport Change Your Fitness

I have done several reviews on calorie counting devices.   One of the things that most of them lack is functionality.  They are either too big, too ridiculous looking, or they seem to clash with everything you wear.   The ones that don’t stand out as much are always disappointing when it come to how accurate they really are. The Apple watch could add a new twist to the already competitive market of fitness devices.  Not only does it link to your iphone and computer, it also comes with some new and improved fitness features that don’t add additional weird accessories to your body .  Pre-orders will begin on April 10th. The device will start shipping on April 24th, and cost anywhere from $349 to $10,000 depending on style.

The Apple Watch Sport – is the cheapest version of the new device.

Apple Watch Sport has an anodized aluminum finish, which comes in both space gray and silver. These finishes will actually match most closely with the existing case materials of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, because of their matte look. The display of the Watch Sport editions are protected by a special ion-treated durable glass, similar to what is used on the iPhone, too. The Watch Sport will ship with a rubberized plastic sport band, which is available in a range of colors.

The Apple Watch Sport is $349 for the 38MM and $399 for the 42MM model (source).

The new watch come with sensors that are available on the ipad and iphones.   Among these features is its taptic engine which allows for both physical and verbal cues as well as messages.  It also come equip with a heart rate monitor, motion sensors for activity, built in blue tooth for connecting to other devices, and of course what they call the “Digital crown,”  which allows you to use the watch in various ways without losing valuable screen real estate.

 

Sit Less Move More?

That’s the tag line that the apple watch sport is using to define their new activity tracking.  Since most people are highly visual and they love to participate in any sort of competition, I could see this apple app really working to get people up and out of their chairs.

 To sum it up he speaks about using the watch at the gym or outside for various types of exercise.   The watch will then show you how many calories you burned.

The Activity app provides a simple visual snapshot of your daily activity, with three rings telling you everything you need to know. The Move ring shows how many active calories you’ve burned. The Exercise ring shows how many minutes of brisk activity you’ve completed. And the Stand ring shows how often you’ve stood up to take a break from sitting. The goal? Complete each ring every day.

 

With all these built in features, it leave the door wide open for third party app builders to create some amazing programs to go along with this new watch.  While a lot of people are bashing the watch online for the price, I know many people would would pay for the sport watch.   How do I know this?  Well just take a look at all of the people who have purchased calorie counting devices.   While the fitness devices aren’t as expensive as this one peice, many will have justifiable means for ordering one based on the fact that they can use it for multiple portions of their lives.
