Before Oprah was a global name, she ran a clip on her show about her weight loss.   This clip (below) shows her 67 pounds of weight loss depicted in cow fat.   If you are looking for something to keep you motivated during the winter months, or just a little refresher, this should do it!

 

On November 15, 1988, Oprah kicked off a show called “Diet Dreams Come True” by revealing her new slim figure—and demonstrating how much she lost by wheeling 67 pounds of fat onstage in a wagon. It became the highest-rated episode in Oprah show history. Find out why Oprah sees it as an iconic moment. Plus, does she still have those size 10 Calvin Klein jeans?

Although Oprah has gone up and down over the years, seeing Oprah’s wagon of fat seems to strike a chord with EVERYONE.   No matter what your size, this visual is enough to make you second think all of your eating and exercise habits for years to come!

Fitness Fact:

When you gain a pound of fat, your body makes seven new miles of blood vessels. This means your body must work harder to pump blood through all of these extra new vessels, which may put a strain on your heart, and reduce oxygenation and nutrient replenishment in other tissues. Fortunately, if you lose a pound, your body will break down and re-absorb the now unnecessary vessels.

No wonder weight gain makes people tired!   Use this visual to fuel your motivation, health and others!   The image of Oprah’s wagon of fat could be something that could change a life.
