Workout smarter, not harder

Do you workout everyday for hours at a time? Are you a member of #teamnodaysoff? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, you may be working your body too hard. The goal of exercise is to improve your health and fitness level.  Not to be so totally obsessed that you neglect to take care of yourself in the process.  Check out the fitness tips below to make sure you are not abusing exercise, but instead, making it work for you.

overtraining
You shouldn’t be in pain. It is not okay to get obsessed to the point of injury.  It is okay to take a rest day every week.  There is a method to seeing results. A healthy balance of working out and resting is what will get you lasting results. If something doesn’t feel right, stop doing it immediately.

Make the most of your time at the gym. Be efficient at the gym when you are trying to lose weight, that way you won’t be burnt out and have low on energy.  The less energy you have the poorer food choices you will make. Map out your exercise plan before you start.  It will be easier to stick to a routine when you have sufficient amounts of energy.

Enlist the help of a trainer.   If you want to lose weight and don’t know where to start, a trainer will most definitely kick-start your weight loss journey. If you start eating clean consistently and start working out smarter for a few hours every week, you’ll see major results.  Don’t forget to take progress pictures and compare them to yourself now, these will motivate you just in case you think your efforts are in vain.

Mix it up!  With all exercise routines, it’s important to be constantly re-motivated and re-inspired. It is also important to mix up your routine every once in a while to avoid injury and prevent stagnation in your weight loss. Don’t forget to maintain proper form and concentrate on your breathing.

Use these Fitness Tips to get to your goal free of injury and exhaustion.  Remember, to make consistent progress you have to keep your body and your mind healthy!
