Nothing says celebrity like a perfect body. Hugh Jackman is one of the biggest stars right now and his body shows it! His role in the new X-Man movie called for the body of a wolf and human mixed. His ripped physique didn’t happen over night. Here are 8 ways he made it possible. As a side note, many of us aren’t tyring to “bulk up” however, read the section about how he leaned down to get the ultimate abs and definition.
Step 1:You need to bulk up. Hugh Jackman said he was lifting as heavy of weights as he could. He was benching over 300 pounds and leg pressing around 1000 lbs as filming was starting.
Step 2: Start doing low reps with a high amount of weight. Lifting heavy weights will force your muscles to adapt and get bigger. You should be doing about 3-4 reps per set.
Step 3:When trying to bulk up like Hugh Jackman in Wolverine, it is important to do muscle mass building exercises. You will need to focus mostly on bench pressing, dead lifting, squats, and leg pressing. At this stage of your work out routine, you need to focus less on bicep curls and similar exercises. You should be weight lifting every other day.
Step 4:Once you are doing the right weight lifting techniques that Hugh Jackman applied, you need to increase your protein intake and decrease your junk foodintake. Hugh Jackman said he ate an unbelievable amount of chicken during his training.
Step 5:High Jackman trained for about a year leading up to Wolverine giving him plenty of time to get super buff. After a few months of bulking up, you will need to make your diet even stricter and start some toning exercises.
Step 6: Start doing more reps and less weight to tone all of your muscles. You can start doing more cardio with interval sprint training. These forms of exercise will make sure you are not only bulked up but very ripped.
Step 7:When filming for Wolverine came around, Jackman focused on interval trainingand cardio while only lifting weights about once per week.
Step 8: Finally, you need to make sure your diet is perfect. You should eat lean meats like chicken, fish, turkey, and lean beef. You should be eating tons of fruits and veggies while making sure you cut out all junk food (source).
Even if you aren’t training for a movie that pays you 20 million; you can still use some of these great tips to get the body you want.
