Healthy Recipe Wednesday – Creamy Avocado Pasta – Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be bland and boring.   With some great recipes, you can lose weight, inches, and body fat while eating healthy.   This recipe is simple, vegan, gluten free and diary free.   You can also make it paleo with some additional tweaks.

You can toss out the old traditional creamy Alfredo sauce and opt for this healthier Alfredo recipe.   This recipe should take about 15 minutes, and it’s cheap!  If you have several avocados that are ripe at the same time and you don’t want them to go bad then throw them into this recipe and use them so you don’t waste money.

Creamy Avocado Pasta Sauce

 

Ingredients For Creamy Avocado Sauce 

1 medium sized ripe Avocado, pitted
1/2 lemon, juiced + lemon zest to garnish
2-3 garlic cloves, to taste
1/2 tsp kosher salt, or to taste
1/4 cup Fresh Basil
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 servings/6 oz of your choice of pasta
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

 

Instructions For Creamy Avocado Pasta

 

1.)  Cook your pasta until it’s al dente.  Usually 8 -10 minutes.

2.)  While the pasta is cooking, start making the sauce by placing the garlic cloves, lemon juice, and olive oil into a food processor.  Blend that until it’s smooth.  Next add the pitted avocado basil and salt.  Blend in the food processor until smooth.

3.)  Once the pasta is cooked, rinse and drain, then add the avocado sauce right away.   Toss the pasta in the sauce until it’s evenly coated.  Add black pepper to the top and serve while hot if possible.

 

This creamy avocado recipe is extremely versatile.  You can add lean meat for extra protein.  You can also change the pasta to brown rice pasta to make it gluten free, and you can change up the spices.  Try this recipe the way it’s laid out first, then make your own changes.  If you want to make it paleo try placing this sauce over veggies.   If you love this healthy recipe, help us spread the word and share it with your friends and family!  Pin it, like it, share, it and love it!
