After the holidays are over! They’re almost over, almost. Last week I gave you some tips on how to not eat the wrong things at all those holidays parties you’ll be attending. Well, this week we’re going to start looking at ways to lose those few holiday pounds, because let’s be honest, as much as you can control your eating we all still gain a few. I’m keeping it real people, I’m not blind, I see my midsection everyday and it’s looking a little different from last month.
When I think of losing weight, I instantly think bad thoughts. I’m a generally optimistic person, but those two pesky words: LOSE WEIGHT, hit me where it hurts. So that’s tip number uno!
–Stay Positive! Don’t think of the weight lose, think about how you’ll be supplementing your eating habits. You don’t have to abandon the meat and potatoes, if that’s your thing, you should just add some vegetables to the mix so you get fuller faster and healthier at the same time.
–Track your food! I know what you’re envisioning. A little rain man action going on, you talking to yourself not wanting to forget anything you consumed that day. You don’t have to write down every single meal, just before you want to eat something naughty, write it down on a napkin. I promise when you see what you’re about to eat, you’ll think twice. Or at least you’ll think about the way it’ll add weight, not weight loss.
–Burn, burn baby, burn! If you burn 500 calories more than you eat every day for a week, you’ll lose 1-2 pounds. If you want to lose more weight then you simply exercise more and eat less. For instance if you work out an hour a day and consume around 1200 calories you can lose weight at a faster rate, around 2-3 pounds a week. BUT don’t cut calories any further than that, it’s dangerous and not healthy.
So get out there and finish off the holiday season with a bang! You’ll kick it into weight loss mode when you can and these tips will make the transition easy for both you and I!
Happy Weight,
Bianca
