Is Taco Bell The New Jenny Craig?

If you haven’t seen the commercial already then I included it in the article for you.  After seeing this several times I have concluded that this somewhat hilarious rendition of a Jenny Craig commercial is quite comical.  Some watch and roll their eyes, while other view it as a healthy, cheap option to their other more detrimental food choices.  We first saw healthy eating options rolled out by Subway with the Jared commercials.  However, after years of eating subway people began to grow tired of this “Eat fresh” option.  Taco Bell’s marketing scheme is smart but very hard to believe.

If you listen carefully the spokes woman says ” results not typical.”  Yet, no one ever seems to hear this part (or maybe they just block it out).  At a glance from a fitness prospective; the healthy eating menu at taco bell is basic and it’s what health nuts have been doing for years when they are faced with only a fast food option….

Here’s What They Did..

  • They took out all sour cream
  • Omitted shredded/ nacho cheese
  • Used grilled options
  • Took out fried shells

Simple right???  Sure it is, yet most people driving through taco bell to get full for a cheap price.  So, they consume as much fat as they can to keep them full longer without having to dip into their pockets.  These simple tricks that Taco Bell has done FOR YOU can always be done BY YOU.  Billion dollar companies need your money so they will dress up their menus and feed you excellent commercials to get your business.  However, implementing this into your daily life and taking charge of your health is where to real changes take place.
