TV can’t be blamed for excess calorie consumption; but it can be blamed for not burning enough calories. Sometimes it’s easier to show a visual picture of this so here is a graph based on the hours of tv watching and obesity.
What I didn’t tell you about the graph was that these dots all represent countries. The one to the far right in the corner is the United States!
Is hard to resist our favorite tv shows. They all lure us in with commercials (reminding you that they will be on) and excess drama.
Everyone is going to watch some tv. However, you can opt to only watch shows that you feel are worth your time. You can also workout while you watch your favorite shows. I use this one on my clients all the time 😉 They tell me they don’t have time to make it to the gym, yet they never miss their favorite tv shows. Sooo I just have them make a date with the gym to watch their show while they are doing cardio.
We live in the age of DVR. For Most, this means we actually spend less time watching commercials. However, most people haven’t cut down on their tv watching; they have increased it because now they have more time!
Make yourelf the prioroty in your life. Your tv will be there when you get back from the gym. With the help of DVR your shows will be their waiting for you too!
