If you day starts like this…… wake up, eat, go to work, work, eat, work, go home, eat, watch tv, and sleep… then you are in BIG trouble!!!! However, this is the most common work day. Then the weekend comes and you are soooooo tired from all the sitting that you can’t manage to get the energy to workout! Whoa, society is in for it! So how do you get the energy to break this cycle and get on track?
TIPS FOR BREAKING THE CYCLE
-
Get your workout in early. Instead of waiting till after work when you are tired and sluggish… get up early, and workout (even if you can only manage 20-30 minutes). It will change your whole day! If that isn’t enough time to get your whole workout in then do something short after work too. By doing the morning session you will be less likely to miss the afternoon one.
-
Get out of bed on the right foot. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to pull yourself together. Rushing to work leaves you frantic and has the potential to ruin your whole day.
-
Plan your meals out. I know it sounds simple. However, preparing your meals ahead of time will keep you from binging on bad food from the vending machine and fast food restaurants.
-
BE A CHILD AGAIN. Lay out your clothes ahead of time and GO TO BED EARLY! If you don’t get sleep, then how are you supposed to have the energy to burn more calories then you consume (which leaves you slightly tired anyway)?
-
It’s ok to stand out from the crowd. Just because your co-workers are eating fried chicken and pizza in the break-room doesn’t mean you have to join in on all the “fun.” Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. It’s a good moto to live by!
-
Write down your routine. This includes your meals, workouts, and times. Sounds simple but it REALLY works.
You don’t have to be another sedentary, over worked (and underpaid) employee. You too can fight the odds and win against the bulge. Be the person that defies all the odds. Stay healthy and hold down a full time job! It’s all about preparation …. stay prepared and take time out for yourself. It’s not selfish to want to be at your best~!
