The big box gyms certainly have their drawbacks, but one thing they do offer is more choices: more equipment more amenities and more group classes. Whether you’re interested in boot camp type classes, traditional aerobic dance, yoga or something in between you should have plenty of options to consider. The big classes make it easier to fit in because all fitness levels will be represented. Classes are offered at different times during the day, but be aware that before work and weekend mornings are the busiest. Small group classes can be beneficial for novice trainees if the instructors take the different fitness levels into account. Small personal training groups are becoming more popular because there’s the camaraderie and motivation of a group and the group makes the training session more affordable.

The most important group exercise tips are to visit some gyms and get some word of mouth. This research will help you decide what kind of workouts and atmosphere best suit you.
