Exercise has long been the cure to many of the diseases that plague America. New Research shows that laughing can have similar affects. Laughing has the ability to enhance your moods, lower cortisol levels, increase your immune system, lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
A study was preformed at Loma Linda University’s Schools of Allied Health (SAHP) and Medicine. Blood samples where taken before the study . Participants were then shown both funny and upsetting videos. The blood test was then repeated along with a blood pressure analysis.
The test revealed that the humerous videos improved blood pressure, hormone levels and endorphins the same way that exercise influences the body.
Who knew that laughing could be such an important part of our health! Maybe next time you pick out a movie you’ll lean toward the romantic comedy instead of the dramatic horror film!
