Lose Up To 5 Pounds In A Week – Jillian’s Dandelion Detox Drink

In a previous article I  let you in on a fast way to slim down and get rid of  excess water weight.  Jillian’s dandelion detox drink has become a big hit on the  site so I  thought I would do a recap with some clarification on the recipe.  This is an awesome way to beat the bloat that comes with holiday treats, excessive eating (most will do it at least twice this season), and plain ol’ water weight.

 

 

Jillian Michaels’ Dandelion Recipe 

Mix 60 oz of water with:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Cranberry Juice (no sugar added, not from concentrate)
  • 1Tablspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teabag of dandelion root tea 
  • Sweetener if desired.  

Use a pitcher and store the mixture in the fridge.  You DO NOT have to steep the dandelion tea, you can put it in cold water and let it sit in the mixture.

Consume the whole batch everyday for 5 days.

 

Side Note:

  • Your weight loss will be based upon how much excess water weight you have been carrying around.  Everyone is different.
  • YES we know that the dandelion tea is bitter.  If it is too bitter for you add more lemon to take away that bitter taste and consider adding more sweetener.  We recommend a no calorie or low calorie option.
  • Stores like Wholefoods and Sprouts are the best place to find the Dandelion Root Tea bags.
    While I have personally done this detox several times and lost water weight, the best part is actually the DETOX.  The main point of the dandelion is to flush the toxins that bog down your system and make it hard to drop weight.   Dandelion is known for flushing the liver.  If you  have a liver that is full of toxins it will slow down your weight loss.
    SO what do you have to lose???  ……. WEIGHT!  Give it a try, stomach the slightly bitter taste and look leaner and feel better in the end!  After you have completed Jillian’s dandelion detox drink for 5 days, come back to the site and let us know how you did!!

    do we eat anything? in those 5 days?

    Yes, you eat normally. The cleanse just pushes out excess toxins and water weight. It also cleanse out the liver so you can process fat better. Adria

    Can we drink water like normal on these days? I drink about 2L a day. Or should we only drink this drink?

    Yes you can drink like normal. You just need to drink both the tea and your other fluids.

    I was wondering if you drink all 60 ounces each day for 5 days or one batch of 60 ounces throughout the 5 days?

    I've recently completed this "detox" and for the past few days have been experiencing something that feels like indigestion...a burning feeling a little below,but in between my rib cage. Is this normal? I never have this pain...even after spicy food or sauce. It's been waking me up in the middle of the night also. Any advice is appreciated!

    Claire, I haven't had any issues after the detox. You sound like your acid and base levels are off a tad. You may consider taking a probiotic that is "enteric" Coated ... I wouldn't buy any without this coating. This will stabilize your acids and help bring you back to normal. Hope this helps, Adria

    Would it be bad to incorporate this into a daily diet, or would that cause problems in the long run?

    I like to have it in my daily routine :) However give yourself a break a couple days a week. It's just helping you flush toxins so I don't see how that could be bad.

    We only use 1 tea bag? I thought I seen you use 4, so I just put 4 in there and waiting to drink it tomorrow.
