One Lump Or 20 – How Much Sugar Is In Your Food?

     We blindly eat foods, without putting thought into what they contain, and how they can affect our bodies.  When it comes to nutrition, it’s best to get a visual perspective.  OMG blog posted these pictures of Coke and Cinnabon.  If, you are like me, they will make you somewhat sick to your stomach (even if you don’t consume these products)!

   As a kid, I loved to go to the mall with the family and get a cinnabon.  This picture of sugar cubes sheds light on the “sugar comma” that came over me after eating this sweet treat.  This could be the new rage in schools.  What if, instead of telling childrenfood is bad for them, they actually showed them visual pictures.  There should also be education on the consequences (like juvenile diabetes etc.)  This might be a more affective way to get the point across. 

     If you are looking to lose weight, it’s not all about the fat content.  Don’t forget that any calorie has the ability to store as fat in your body.  Eating low fat foods with high amounts of sugar and carbohydrates can be just as bad!
