The increased amount of desk jobs and societies based on computers has increased the incidence of wrist issues. So, if you struggle with wrist problems you don’t have to ditch the push-ups you just have to know how to tailor them to your body.
Wrist issues can come up during multiple exercises. Make sure that keep your wrists straight while doing all exercises. Any exercise that keeps your wrist bent for long periods of time will cut off the blood flow to the median nerve. Decreased blood flow for long periods of time can cause agrivation and inflammation.
If you have trouble keeping your wrist in a neutral position while working out; try buying weight lifting gloves with wrist straps. This will keep your wrists from bending.
