One of the most under used weight loss tools is usually sitting in your fridge or in your cupboard from the last time you went on a cleanse or diet. IT’S PROTEIN !!! Protein has the ability to decrease blood sugar almost instantly. Lowering your blood sugar spikes leads to weight loss. It’s time to shake it up and start adding protein back into your diet so you can push out those excess carbs and get lean for spring and summer.
This particular protein shake recipe is a combination on my green drink with an extra PUNCH. In efforts to increase my own protein intake, I started added some vegan protein to the shake. To increase immunity and increase oxygen uptake I added beet juice. Mix it up the way you like but don’t forget to get your daily protein.
Green Protein Shake Recipe – Packs a Powerful Punch For Weight Loss and Health
- One Scoop of Vega (Vegan Protein Powder) or any low carb protein powder
- 1 cup of Mixed “Power Greens” – baby organic kale, spinach, chard
- 1/4 of a small avocado (optional – this is for texture)
- 1/4 cup of carrot juice
- 1 – 2 tablespoons of beet juice
- 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1/4 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup of water
Blend these all together at a high enough speed to break up the Power greens. I use a “bullet” blender, nothing crazy or over priced.
Fitness Tips: If you hate the taste of beet juice of carrot juice. You can alter the recipe and add in a citrus fruit such as orange or orange juice and it will mask the task of root based vegetables.
Protein is you friend so make sure you have plenty of vitamin packed protein shake recipes to keep you from getting board. Don’t forget your morning B complex (to take with your protein) it will increase your calorie burning for fat loss, aid in focus, and increase energy.
