While this isn’t the most appealing topic, it is reality when eating a variety of healthy foods. Beans are considered a “slow processing” carb which makes them an awesome choice for people trying to lose weight. They also contain a large amount of fiber to keep you full and satisfied. Regardless of the benefits of legumes, many people avoid them due to “rumbling tummies,” and gas issues.
This fit tip can help you avoid the uncomfortable issues that come with this food and help you enjoys weight loss.
Taking the Gas Out of Canned Beans:
Boil water (enough to cover the beans).
Pre wash beans and get rid of any residual canned water.
Add the beans to the boiling water and turn the heat to simmer.
Allow the beans to simmer 15 – 20 minutes.
Rinse and drain again and enjoy.
Dried Beans:
Soak the beans for one whole day before cooking.
Make sure that you cook the beans completely!!!! Beans are poisoness if eaten slightly raw.
Boil them and enjoy!
This process helps rid the beans of residue that creates gas and bloating. It’s also another well known bodybuilding trick to consume Beano (enzyme pills or drops) when eating beans and high amounts of vegetables. Adding some vinegar to the water at the end of their cooking process will also help with digestion. Although these foods are great ways to get lean, they are harder to break down and digest.
