With most everything in life, preparation, planning, and energy are the basis for change, improvement and focus. If you really want to have a better body, a healthier life and a more positive outlook, these 7 minutes could change your life. Using this short routine on a daily basis first thing in the morning (or last thing at night) could help you shed those extra inches, that unwanted tire, those “thunder thighs,” and even those annoying self sabotaging. Here’s how to do it…
1.) Ready, Set, Get Lean and STAY Lean…
Find a place that’s quiet where you can really focus on what you’re doing. If this is at work, scope out a quiet place that you can use daily that’s not in your cubical or car. Maybe a bench in a nice outside area. If this is at home, find a secluded area that’s calming and peaceful. It’s important that you find a place that you can use daily so it becomes a habit. You must have a watch or your phone to time your 7 and a pen and small notebook. You’ll want to keep these notes to track your journey.
2.) Minute One – Clear your Cache
Start with a clean slate and clear your mind. Put your phone on silent, get rid of distractions, and focus on the task at hand…. YOUR HEALTH !
3.) Minute Two – Increase You Oxygen – Breath
Simple enough? Take some long calming breaths that aren’t related to stress and anxiety. Use these to replenish your body and get in the right mind frame.
4.) Minute Three – Six – It’s ALL About You Kid
These next 3 minutes should be TOTALLY and COMPLETELY about you! Don’t think of your wife, your husband, your kid, your dog, or your angry boss. If those thoughts creep in then kick them right back out! These 3 minutes should be your time to think about and plan your fitness day. You can draw it, write it, whatever you want, just make sure it’s focused on your personal health and fitness goals. It could be as simple as planning out your healthy meal ideas for the day. Example: oatmeal and protein shake for breakfast, chicken salad and fruit for lunch, Paleo meal for diner. Doodle your workout routine, and how many minutes. Plan out your schedule for fitness for the day and DRINK WATER.
5.) Set Your Health Odometer – Minute Six – Seven
The FIRST thing you eat and drink in the day sets the tone for what you do all day. So if you grab for a high caffeinated, sugary beverage, you will be hyped and craving sugar all day long. Your very first beverage should be WATER and with a dose of all of your vitmains.
