People are always coming out with new ways to get fit. The TRX is being using by athletes and celebrities all over the world. Check out the new system and be amazed! For videos on how the TRX works go to www.fitnessanywhere.com
“David Beckhamis said to be incorporating the moves into his training programme, and Beverly Hills’s most sought after A-list trainer, Gunnar Peterson, is using the new equipment to train his uber-svelte clients, who include Amber Valetta, Gwen Stefani and Ben Affleck.
Now, it’s just started to filter its way across the Pond to fitness insiders in Britain. Dancers are swearing by it, and fans rave about how it’s the quickest way to get a cardio and muscle workout in less than an hour.
The TRX was invented by Navy Seal commander Randy Hetrick. He realised he needed a tool that could help him and his team maintain their combat fitness while deployed on missions in cramped operating bases such as safehouses, ships and submarines. He put together the first version using parachute material and sold hundreds to the troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. But once news percolated through to bodyconscious LA, the more hightech version that Hetrick also created started selling in hundreds of thousands.
Now everyone from professional athletes, basketball players and American footballers to the Sex And The City crowd in New York is gushing over its benefits. In fact, it’s so popular with Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire that he’s taken his friend Leonardo DiCaprio along to Suspension classes in West Hollywood.
The exercises use gravity and bodyweight to sculpt the entire body – more than 250 different exercises have been developed by Hetrick and every one requires you to engage your entire muscular system as opposed to the isolated muscles you work on when using standard gym weights.
While some sets are done standing on the ground, holding individual padded straps, the majority of moves require you to pop your feet in stirrups which are suspended off the ground (credit).
There are other versions of these straps on the market (vegasstraps.com). However, there is no garutee that they are just as good as the real thing. Looks like I will be saving up for this new system which runs about 200 bucks!
