This may sound a little over the top, but hear me out. When it comes to exercise and other things in daily life, it takes a certain amount of dedication to do be consistent day in and day out. So it’s best if you develop something that you say to yourself on a daily basis to motivate yourself to stay on top of your exercise. You can make your own saying or you can pull the saying from your favorite fitness magazine of even your personal trainer.
Here’s a quick example … one of my clients was notorious for making excuses. She used her daily life to get out of her workouts. Most people have a habit of doing this (it’s not uncommon). So, I had her write on 3 different “post-its” … “I will not make excuses NOT to workout.” She placed one in her car, one on her mirror in her bathroom, and one next to her computer. Before long, I started seeing that client at the gym more and more frequently. It’s interesting how something so little could make such a huge difference and impact so many part of some one’s life.
