August 17, 2012 by Adria Ali Leave a Comment

Whether you’re big or small bindge eating can be a problem for people of all sizes.  It becomes even more common when people go on diets, restrict what they eat, or don’t eat enough through out the day.  The main problem with bindge eating isn’t the physical aspect but rather the mental torcher, shame, and embarassment you go through once you’re done.  This can start the cycle of ” I’m going to be really good today” and end in ” I did horrble, how am I ever going to lose weight?”  The break down of  self esteem can lead to a life of self hate and failed diet attempts.

What is Binge eating?

Binge eating is an uncontrollable urge to eat everything around you. It is so intense that doctors and eating experts alike have labeled it as being much like a drug addict. 5 Tips To Stop Binge Eating

  1. Comfort Foods – Everyone has the ocaasional desire for “comfort foods.”  The trick to controlling youreself is to only buy these items in SMALL quantities.  If you know you will eat the whole bag, get a mini bag.  If you can’t put down that carton of ice cream then by a mini ice cream or a single serving.

  2. Dish Out Your Servings – I know, I know you don’t want to have to get up three times to refill your bowl you’d rather eat from the container.  However, dishing out your portions into a container or bowl reminds you of how much you’ve eaten!  If you have to get up and go back to the kitchen for more, you are less likely to overeat!

  3. Stay Busy – countless hours in front of the TV or computer every night does not help!  Get a new hobby, go to the gym, and be productive with your time.  Being bored give you more time to focus on eating food you don’t need.

  4. Eat Before You Shop – Most people have heard this tip, but how many of us actually do it???   Most people hit the grocery store on the way home from work or other outings.  Before you leave the office or attempt to go shopping, eat a small snack.  Keep these handy in your desk drawer, car, purse, and gym bags.  The healthiest people are the people that prepare ahead of time.

  5. Eat Through Out The Day – While fitness has advanced and people have become more nutritionally aware, they still for.

If you have this problem and you can’t seem to get it under control alone, there are various sites and professional out there that can help.   The solution to this problem, whether it be big or small lies within

yourself.  You must decide to change or decide you need help.  To have long lasting success and maintain a healthy weight, tackle binge eating head on and regain control over emotions, habits, and

your thought process.  These fitness tips are here to help you and guide you.  If you are having other issues or have questions please write in and let us know!
