Although this diet doesn’t originate from anywhere in California; the title does draw you in. This diet plan focuses on combining food for optimal digestion, which in turn, promotes body fat loss. Here’s how it works….
“The New BH Diet is a 35-day program, in which you’ll learn to eat carbs only with carbs, proteinsonly with proteins and fruits by themselves. This is because, Mazel claims, your body uses specific enzymes to digest carbs, proteins and fruit and when you mix these foods, your body has a difficult time breaking down food. Mazel also suggests that fat is merely a symptom of digestion and when your body is digesting properly, you will see a reduction in body fat.
Some of the BH Diet rules are:
– Start your day with a piece of fruit, but only one each hour.
– Consume steak, shrimp, salad, baked potatoes, corn and wine during the first 10 days.
– Eat as much as you like (credit)
The New Beverly Hills Diet does not offer any suggestions for serving size, exercise or maintaining weight loss.
The Facts : If god didn’t want you to combine your foods, then he or she, wouldn’t have blessed us with such a wide variety of food to chose from!
- This diet says nothing about exercise, which is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
“Listen to this gem of a quote from her book: “In my opinion, the only reason exercise helps reduce weight is because the person exercising is too busy to eat.”
- No portion control. Eating as much as you want can lead to weight gain.
This diet was written by an actress that has no educational background in nutrition. Basically, this diet is all based on a theory. Chances are, you won’t stick to this diet for the rest of you life. Comments from another website said people doing this diet were prone to diarrhea!!!!
Stick with healthy eating, portion control, plenty of exercise, and most of all … a level head!
