It’s very hard to be allergic to gluten. Things like pasta, bread, and any dessert become things of danger. Even worse is going out to dinner and trying to find something on the menu (besides salad or protein based entrees) that won’t make me sick.
I went to Bj’s to get a salad and saw the gluten free pizza and beer on their menu. I was SHOCKED! I don’t know of any other chain that caters to people with gluten intolerance.
Although I haven’t been able to find any nutrition facts on this menu item, I decided to write a review anyhow.
The crust– seems to be slightly sweet and made predominantly of corn meal. Although it was good, I felt that it was a tad oily
Cheese – Was light and not overpowering.
Sauce – Again, slightly sweet
Toppings – I chose the mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and olives. Good combination if you are planning to order this item.
Overall, this pizza really hit the spot! I would recommend it to all those suffering with this allergy. Thank you BJ’s for making me feel slightly normal again 😉
