So last week I was at Sun Cafe. Now, I want to preface all of this by saying, I’m NOT a vegan.
Okay, now that I said that, I would like to say I’m obsessed with all restaurants that are vegan/raw. I know. It’s kind of amazing. Think about it, if you can have “Biscuits and Gravy’, but there’s no meat or dairy, BUT they taste VERY, VERY similar. So similar that my boyfriend a Biscuit and Gravy aficionado ate the “Biscuits and Gravy” from Sun Cafe and enjoyed it AND commented on how he wanted to recreate the mushroom gravy!
The point of this whole Sun Cafe story is that there are a lot of real vegans eating at vegan/raw restaurants. On my outing last week there was a gentleman sitting next to us and he was wearing a shirt that said “Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness”. He didn’t look all yoked up like most bodybuilders, but it got me thinking. I’m sure it’s possible to gain muscle with no meat, BUT no one really knows the amount of protein that’s in vegetables.
Soooo I’m going to break it down for you and who knows you may want extra broccoli next time, rather than extra chicken.
Okay, I lied. This picture will break it down for you. When I saw this I was like: “WHAT??!! Pass the Kale!”
So maybe being a vegan and producing some sort of muscle with a strictly vegan diet IS possible.
Happy Veganism,
Bianca
