Can you tell my excitement behind my post title?! I literally have been testing this statement, AKA: eating carbs for the last 2 weeks as a “test”, AKA: I’ve been letting go of my 4 Hour Body diet and I have been losing weight! Truth! I realized the only thing that has really changed in my day-to-day, other than not sticking to the 4 Hour Body regiment is, I’ve been eating more carbs. Seriously.
DISCLAIMER:
I am an active girl, AKA: I hike, jog, run, weight lift, AKA: do something active at least 5 days a week.
Soooooo, when I eat carbs, I generally eat them before noon. I usually wake up and hike or take a long walk or light jog with my dog. My breakfast consists of eggs, fiber(usually black beans, I’m HISPANIC people!) and CARBS!
Just to clarify my carbs are usually on the natural side, AKA: Ezekiel bread, granola, kashi cereal. You get it. As far as white breads…meh. Maybe if my grandma makes empanadas, then I’ll eat regular flour, BUT for the most part it’s grainy, or natural, or gluten free.
Now, why is it that carbs early in the day work, or like my bf says, WERQ!
FitTip Fact #1: SEROTONIN levels are altered for the good when you eat carbs early.
Serotonin helps you sleep better when it climbs, so we’re looking for it to climb in the night time so you don’t eat late night carbs.
Basically this all similar to the “eating a big breakfast diet”.
FitTip Fact #2: When you eat carbs before noon you have all day to burn them off AND carbs give you energy so you’re less likely to feel sluggish and crash AND then reach for that 4 pm croissant!
Basically when you eat carbs early in the day, you’re less likely to eat them for lunch and then when dinner time comes around your serotonin levels are high from eating your carbs early so you eat less AND sleep better.
Boom.
Eat carbs now. You have a little more than 30 minutes left until it’s noon.
Happy Carbing,
Bianca
