Zinc, It Does The Body Good.

Everyone who has a cold right now, say I.

IIIIIIII!!!!! I can’t believe I got the infamous “cold that’s going around”.  I cringe whenever anyone says, “Oh my gosh, there’s that flu going around”, there’s always a flu/cold/head cold going around every winter season.  Don’t laugh at me, I know living in California we hardly have a winter season, but with the Santa Ana winds blowing and it being 58 degrees outside, it makes it feel like it’s a season called winter.

Zinc Lozenges

So here I am, writing to you with a Zinc lozenge in my mouth because NO ONE tells you that 75 % of Americans are deficient in Zinc which is a huge germ buster and when everyone and their dog is sick with the flu/cold/head cold you’re liable to catch some sort of virus!

FitTip Fact:  Did you know that most colds are 95% viral, and you can’t fight a virus with an antibiotic?  That’s right it has to run it’s course.  So don’t reach for that amoxicilin unless you have an infection, that can transpire from a cold.  That tip came from the douchey doctor I recently dated, that thinks calling me every 2 weeks to hang, is okay, so I simply use him for his brain.  It could be worse I could use him for his…let me not answer that because quite honestly his brain is the only thing he has to offer, which is not horrible, which is the reason I’m still attracted to him.

Okay.  Sorry for that.  Back to Zinc.  Here are a few reason you need to suck on some Zinc, asap. It will save you from getting that flu/cold/head cold.

Reason #1:  Zinc keeps muscles healthy and helps them grow.  So basically, if you work out, you should take Zinc.  When you work out and get sore, that’s from your muscles being ripped apart, then comes the repair/growth.  In that process there are some free radicals thrown out to build these muscles so Zinc attacks those free radicals and helps your body grow healthy muscle tissue!  Body builders don’t skip this supplement!

Reason #2:  Do not eat enough meat?  Most vegans and vegetarians are Zinc deficient.  Basically Zinc is found in a lot of animal proteins so if you’re not consuming animal protein or a lot of pumpkin seeds and peanuts, you need some Zinc.  I like vegan treats, so I don’t want the vegans around me getting sick, so please eat Zinc.  On a serious note, I like eating meat(s), but every once in a while I just like consuming veggies so if you’re like me, eat your Zinc so you’re not suffering from a flu/cold/head cold that EVERYONE has.

Last, but not least, Reason #3:  Zinc is a germ fighter, literally doesn’t allow for germs to live in your body due to this minerals high antioxidant power.
