Based on the Jillian version of the “Deck of Cards Workout,” I decided to formulate my own program for one of my best clients. Here is our very first program. Try it out if you have time; it was a lot of fun for both me and her!
* For each card pulled out of the deck… the repititions should match the number on the card.
FIRST 30 Minutes
Spades = Lunges (step back lunges)
Diamonds= Push -up (or traveling push ups)
Clubs = Squats ( dina disc squats)
Hearts = Ladder Drills (or something that gets your heart rate up)
Jokers and Aces = Wild ~ pick your favorite exercise and do 10 repetitions
Face Cards= Jumping Jacks (10 total)
Second 30 Minutes (yes there’s more)
Diamonds = Shoulder Press (or shoulder combination move)
Clubs = Bicep or Tricep Exercise ( this could be bicep curls or dumbbell tricep extensions)
Spades = Abs ( do 3 ab exercises in a row … 15 reps of each)
Hearts = Band Row
* Aces, Face cards, and Jokers remain the same in the second round
If these exercise don’t match your level of fitness then feel free to change them. All you need to do to formulate your own program is choose one exercise for every muscle group. Next, spilt them in half and assign them to a suite. This is sure to spice up your routine, get your heart rate up, and burn calories while you are having fun.
