Get Gorgeous Like These Celebrities, and Superstar Athletes In 2009

December 25, 2008 by Adria Ali Leave a Comment

If you think you are the only one killing yourself at the gym then Think Again!  These celebrities and superstar athletes work hard to stay in shape and look good for their on screen roles.  Now, you get an inside look at what they are doing to look gorgeous thanks to “Men’s Fitness.”

Just in time for the New Year, Men’s Fitness magazine will release a new book designed to inspire men around the country to live a fitter lifestyle in 2009. The guide is divided into four sections Superstar Athlete Workouts, Celebrity Workouts, Man Meals and Nutrition Specials, and MMA Training.

To celebrate the launch of the book, we rounded up seven quick health and fitness tips from a few famous faces who appear in the guide:

David Boreanaz — actor
“I usually tone up with core-strength workouts,” says the Bones star, who appeared on the cover of MFin September 2005. “I do them four times a week with a rigorous course incorporating cardio with strength training.”

Scott Foley — actor
“I’ve been using the Ranger Handbook,” reveals the actor, who plays an army sergeant on The Unit. “We’ve been doing exercises swinging kettlebells, which improves the v-shape definition rangers have.”

Adrian Peterson — football
“I try to work every muscle in my legs with lunges, single-leg squats, and back squats. I like running with ankle weights to give me more explosiveness.”

Brady Quinn — football
“Squats are huge,” says the Cleveland Brown’s quarterback. He also changes up his routine with “med-ball throws and plyometrics. As a competitor, you need to do something extra to gain that edge.”

Adam Levine — singer
The Maroon 5 singer swears by yoga, which he took up as a post-workout solution for strained muscles. “After I finished, I was drenched,” the singer says. “It was the craziest workout—and I barely moved!”

Flo Rida — rapper
“I was a skinny dude in high school,” Rida, whose daily regimen now includes 1,000 crunches and 300 dips, recalls. “I probably couldn’t lift 50 pounds. Now I’m 6’3″, 210 pounds, and can bench-press 400.”

Dylan Walsh — actor
“I’ve always been a runner primarily. I have a six-mile run that I do along Sunset Boulevard on Sundays, and that’s sort of religious for me. I have to do that—it cleans me out for the coming week.
