Hollywoods Addicted To “Krank-ing”

    Leave it to celebrities to find fitness devices that provide results!  The pressure of society, the cameras and the red carpet always send them looking for the newest fitness craze.  “Kranking” has hit Hollywood and some of the biggest stars are hooked on the new device.  Check out this clip from TV Guide. 

“It works through high-repetition rotations and adjustable resistance ⿿ the same way a stationary bike firms your butt and legs,” says G. (a.k.a. Jonathan Goldberg). Experts suggest alternating sessions with a regular Spinning bike for the best results.

“Kranking burns fatand works muscles differently than most other machines, so it’s the ultimate cure for flabby arms,” says Los Angeles personal trainer Gunnar Peterson, who has been testing the machine.

“But your arms are a smaller muscle group, so pedaling with them won’t burn as many calories.” The machines are currently available in only a handful of gyms, such as Equinox Fitness Clubs in Pasadena, California, and the Sports Club/LA in Boston (source).

   Although, there are similar machines in most fitness clubs, this is the only one that allows you to do it one arm at a time.  If you have ever used one of these machines, don’t underestimate the fun nature; these things are TOUGH.  Try finding the arm cycle at your gym and use it to warm up before your upper body routine.  Your Tank tops will thank you this summer.
